Aaron’s Antarctic Gear List
Below is a list of the gear Aaron used during his record-setting solo expedition to the South Pole. During these three months, his gear (his body & mind, too) were tested to the limit. Antarctica is hard on gear, as it is dry, windy, and the ultraviolet radiation is intense.
Nylon deteriorates rapidly in the sun, tearing easily. The air is so cold that plastic and metal can crack or shatter. Water freezes and expands, damaging water bottle threads, causing permanent leaks. Antarctica is a tough, beautiful place.
