Two day soreness has hit me after doing the P90X leg workout. You know you have really done it when you have 2-day soreness. What is this 2-day soreness?
This is the effect where when you are working out, you work out very hard you don’t feel sore, and then the next day you feel fine. But, then two days after working out, you are very sore from whatever you worked on. At first you can’t remember why in the world you were sore because you have a full 2 day separation between your soreness and your workout.
And as you’re hobbling around your arms are sore or whatever, you think back and you realize, “Hey I worked these out but it took two days to get sore. What the heck is going on?”
Honestly, I’m not sure. I have never received a satisfactory answer from any of the trainers or doctors I’ve talked to about it. Suffice to say, you know that if you had 2-day soreness, you’ve achieved a certain new level for your body. Each person has their level.
If you’ve never worked out and you work out like crazy, you’ll suffer from probably both one and two days soreness. If you work out quite a bit, experiencing this effect either means your workout regimen is not good enough or you have taken it to a whole new level.
Just note that you’re not alone, as this seems to happen to everyone.
