Do you go with hiking boots vs trail runners for backpacking? Traditional thinking drives you to hiking boots but maybe you didn’t know that many long distance hikers and through hikers actually go with trail runners. There are advantages for both in the field. Choosing the right footwear can make or break your hiking and camping experience. If you get it wrong, you can have a bad time and at worse, you can be injured. I’ve tried both and give my reasons for going for hiking boots vs trail runners or even tennis shoes for my backpacking and camping trips.
